HISTORY

A mechanical engineer by trade, Edward Pentz founded EMP Industries, Inc in 1986. Born from the desire to create a family legacy, and fueled with an entrepreneurial spirit, Ed’s dream was to have his entire family work together and with EMP, he was able to live this dream. Originally located in Bensalem, PA, EMP focused on designing and assembly of custom equipment primarily for the semiconductor, food packaging and pharmaceutical industries.

In 1990, EMP moved to a 3,500 sq. ft. building in Ivyland, PA where design and assembly continued with the addition of in-house machining/manufacturing. To accommodate the company’s growth, EMP moved within 2 years to another facility in Ivyland, doubling in size to a 7,000 sq. ft. building to support more machine work. In 1992 EMP bought its first CNC Mill to provide full-service manufacturing and assembly services. Up until 2015 EMP was well known as a top provider in designing, manufacturing, and assembling custom equipment for the semiconductor, food packaging and pharmaceutical industries. In 2015 EMP shifted its focus to further support their growth in the machining segment of their business and realized their strength as a top CNC machining company.

With continued growth, EMP relocated in 2017 to their current, modern, state of the art 13,600 sq. ft. facility and obtained ISO 9001:2015 certification. EMP Industries, Inc. offers precision CNC Milling [3, 4, 5 axis], Horizontal CNC Milling, CNC Turning, Wire EDM services, 3 axis CNC Gantry Router machining. With more than 39 years of servicing clients in North America and Europe, serviced industries expanded through the years to include medical devices, energy & automation, aerospace, and defense in addition to the semiconductor, packaging, and pharmaceutical industries.
